Late last night SportsBetExpert announced the departure of Evan "Evan" Cawthorn from the starting lineup following the player's decision to temporarily step from competition to focus on work and life commitments. Evan's exit from SBE is the latest change in a fairly tumultuous time for the roster after replacing Joshua "steel" Nissan with Gavin "Fruitcupx" Norman on February 18th.
Evan leaves SportsBetExpert after serving as one of the founding members of the roster in April 2025, staying in the starting lineup amidst a flurry of changes outside of a brief period on the bench at the start of the year. During his time with SportsBetExpert, Evan posted a modest 0.98 rating over 49 maps, most notably helping the team to a top-four finish in CCT Season 3 North American Series #3.
Evan told Dust2.us that he made the decision to take a break from competition to dedicate more attention to other aspects of life, saying he can't love the game too much at the risk of overshadowing other priorities.
With Evan exiting the roster, SportsBetExpert will once again look to return to full strength ahead of the ESEA Advanced Season 56 playoffs, which are set to start next week.
