Aquaplus, DMM Games, and Shiravune have announced that their 2D fighting game Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match has been updated on Steam, implementing significant fixes and optimizations.
Fans can now enjoy an offline mode, improved control hints, configurable keyboard controls, and much more. Additionally, the team is working on more fixes and improvements, including the arrival of rollback netcode.
- The game may now be played offline. Enabling Steam Offline Mode will allow AQUAPAZZA to be launched without an Internet connection. Please note that the Network Play function is not available in this mode.
- Control hints have been improved. An issue that caused all control hints to appear as “-” on some systems has been addressed.
- The game’s keyboard controls are now configurable. Press F5 from the Controls tab of the Settings menu in order to switch from Gamepad to Keyboard Configuration. Then, press the displayed Call Partner (Decide) key for either player (P1 or P2) to customize that player’s controls. Press F5 again to leave this menu.
Several additional new hotkeys are also available in this menu.
F6: Remove the current key binding for the selected action.
F7: Restore default settings.
F8: Finalize settings. - Pressing F5 will now toggle the microphone ON or OFF during Network Play, either during battle or on the Character Select screen before the match begins. Please use this functionality if you find the mic unexpectedly active during an online match.
- Fixed an issue that caused some character names to incorrectly appear in Japanese.
- Implemented various other fixes and adjustments.
Some users have reported errors that may be resolved by adjusting your graphics settings, including situational crashes and FPS-related performance issues on certain systems.
If you encounter such issues, please try the steps below. If you encounter such issues on a system without an NVidia device available, please provide as much information as you can and consider returning the game, as we cannot guarantee a fix that works on all devices.
Of the below steps, Step 5 is intended to resolve crashing issues on certain laptops, while Step 6 is more general and should improve the stability of the game’s framerate.
- Open the “NVidia Control Panel” application.
- Select “Manage 3D Settings” in the sidebar on the left, under the “3D Settings” header.
- Select the “Program Settings” tab on the right-hand side. (The “Global Settings” tab will likely be open instead by default.)
- In the “Program Settings” tab, select the AQUAPAZZA application executable under “1. Select a program to customize.”
- [FOR CRASHES] In the “Program Settings” tab, select “High-performance NVidia processor” from the dropdown under “2. Select a graphics processor to prioritize for this program.” (If this setting appears.)
- [FOR FPS ISSUES] In the “Program Settings” tab, select “ON” and “60FPS” under “Maximum Framerate” in the list of settings available under “3. Specify the settings for this program.”
- Click “Apply” in the bottom-right of the screen in order to save these settings.
About Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match
The Steam edition features all 26 characters from the PS3 version, with 13 core fighters supported by 13 partner characters. Each match allows players to select a partner to assist during battles.
Two control schemes are available. Traditional fighting game veterans can rely on the classic quarter-circle inputs and combos. At the same time, newcomers can jump in through Simple Mode, which streamlines maneuvers for approachability. The Active Emotion System dynamically alters characters’ performance based on their momentum, encouraging aggression.
Beyond versus play, the Steam release retains both the arcade-inspired Story Mode and the console-original Another Story Mode. Multiplayer is supported through Steam’s online matchmaking.
The roster features iconic characters from across Aquaplus’ works. Protagonists like Hakuowlo and Karulau from Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen appear alongside Multi from ToHeart and Tamaki Kousaka from ToHeart 2. Partner characters include idols Yuki Morikawa and Rina Ogata from White Album: Memories Like Falling Snow.
