Project Gorgon has now opened a fourth server as it nears 3500 concurrent players

We have to say that when Project Gorgon started making noise about opening a second server, we were skeptical, but it happened. And then a third server happened. And now… yeah, we’re up to four. Miraverre (aka the Goddess of Dreams) joined Arisetsu, Dreva, and Strekios late last night; the server name was voted on by players and just edged out Melkar and Kirad. So far as we know, Dreva is still locked to demo players, who are now being encouraged to use the new server instead.

The reason for the rapid deployment of these new servers is obvious: Project Gorgon’s concurrency this past weekend topped its numbers from its first weekend of launch, hitting a peak of 3,476 yesterday. As we noted, the indie MMO used to regularly see around 100-200 people online on a good day, so this is a massive influx.
Also worth an update here: We’d mentioned on the podcast and in older posts that players planning on sticking around in the game might consider taking advantage of the $50 backer bundle, which includes nine months of sub, a horse, riding, and saddlebags. However, readers trying to actually check out with that bundle found it was flagged sold out. Turns out that’s by design: Elder Game has disabled it on purpose, with plans to re-enable it once it’s tweaked to be compatible with the multi-server situation. In other words, stay tuned. Honse will be thine.
