The Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection was released last year, but it felt like there were a number of problems that didn't mesh well with the fans. As such, Digital Eclipse, the studio behind the production of the Legacy Kollection, has promised to continue updating the game to get it more inline with expectations.
Of course, the Legacy Kollection launched without crossplay, making it difficult to find games online. At the very least, it's something that Digital Eclipse may choose to consider later down the road, though such a feature would have a number of technical hurdles.
Back in December, the Online Arcade Lobby was patched into Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. This should at least make it easier for a group of friends to have a session together.
Over the course of a number of patches, Digital Eclipse has highlighted how they've also been reducing the amount of input latency for the Legacy Kollection. Additional updates in the future will apparently continue to do this.
Aside from that, the future for the Legacy Kollection is a bit unclear at the moment. Just recently, Digital Eclipse has confirmed that they do intend to keep providing updates, but didn't provide any details beyond that.
"There are more updates coming," simply responded Digital Eclipse to a fan on X. At the very least, this confirms that they haven't moved on from the Legacy Kollection just yet.
According to Dynasty (while he's playing Fortnite), the Legacy Kollection developers are apparently refraining from talking about specifics for now as to prevent fans from asking about the whereabouts of planned features for later updates.
